PHYSICAL THEATRE LAB is an intensive training experience dedicated to advancing acting through the language of physical theatre. This unique programme offers participants an immersive artistic experience, combining practical training, methodological insights, and analytical reflection. The LAB focuses on the integration of movement-based practices into the actor’s craft, emphasising the body as a central vehicle of expression, imagination, and theatrical storytelling.
Core areas of focus:
Contemporary dance techniques applied to theatre acting
Devising methods and collaborative creation in performance
Improvisation techniques for stage practice
Mime and other forms of non-verbal communication
The application of physicality in performance
Guided by renowned international lecturers — Pavol Seriš (SK/CZ), Radoslav Pivovarči (SK), and Lucia Bielik (SK) — the programme aims to present professionally tested systems and creative procedures that expand the expressive range of emerging theatre-makers.
Who is this project for?
The Physical Theatre LAB is designed for higher education students, particularly:
2nd and 3rd-year Bachelor students
1st and 2nd-year Master students
Field of study: Drama, Theatre Arts, Acting, Theatre Dramaturgy and Directing or related areas.
